Аbstract: Leo Tolstoy — the conscience and honor of the Russian people — was a direct participant in Russian-Highland tragedy of the 19-th century which went down in history as the Caucasian War. The greatest artist of the word, a deep conscientious person that compassionated to the grief of the nations involved in this conflict, sought to philosophically understand the causes of their disasters.
