Аbstract: The author of the article on the material of the novel by Mikhail Lermontov and the story by D. Damian considers the phenomenon of deconstructive reading and rethinking the classic «masculine» text from the feminine point of view. As the author shows «new» Bela symbolizes universal progress and emancipated personality.
